Sixth Avenue’s history dates back to 1991 in Chicago, where child-producer Adam Silver put up full-fledged, elaborate theatre productions alongside his siblings and neighbors in his backyard on Sixth Avenue as the "Sixth Avenue Players". A decade later in Los Angeles, Sixth Avenue was founded to create bold, boundary-pushing theatrical events that attract the next generation of audiences. Work includes the west coast premieres of Ike Holter's Hit the Wall and Exit Strategy, the world premiere of William Nedved's Fact & Fiction, the Los Angeles premiere of Adam Szymkowicz's Nerve, ILove99 the Musical, the nightlife event Learn The Words, Bitch and the Town Hall reading series.
